Languages are vary with cultures. There are many languages in the world. Besides, they have own grammar, words, and so on. I thought learning English was difficult because I have to know the country’s history, cultures and so on. However, I don’t think so now.
ReplyDeleteDuring spring semester, I concerned with English many times. For example, writing blog in English, talked with my teachers and friends in English, listen to English songs, and so on. I didn’t do any special things. I just enjoy my life. I can learn English expressions from my friends and teachers. And then, exchanged students talked me about their country, cultures, and history sometimes. I mean I can improve my English skill in my daily life.
Learning English is important because we can learn not only language but also cultures, history, and so on. However, it is not difficult, I think. If we include English in daily life, we can level up the skill, and learn about other things at the same time.
In this semester, I had my own blog for the writing class. I had not spent much time on my English studying. However, I read various books and wrote essays and diaries this semester.
ReplyDeleteI post on it every day, and I often think about various things in English. For example, I wrote about the various names of rains in Japanese. I tried to express the goodness of Japanese culture, because I am Japanese, and my blog is opened foreigners.
Besides, I have posted not only essays but also diaries, so I learned natural expressions in English.
I could recognize the pleasure of expressing what I want to share with others in English and the importance of studying every day.
I think my awareness of English language has changed this semester.
It is easy for me to write some sentences with my hand, but I’m poor at writing something with PC. I can’t type smoothly at first. Always I make a lot of mistakes. However, through this semester my language awareness has changed. I have thought only writing down on the paper is Writing Class. However using PC is wonderful skill for writing. Furthermore, we can check our spelling mistakes or grammatical mistakes with Word. It is good opportunity for us to change our language awareness.
ReplyDeleteI think that my awareness of English has changed in this semester. I have two reasons.
ReplyDeleteThe one is that a chance to talk with exchange students increased. When I talk with them, I use English and Japanese, however their Japanese are very well and my skill of English is not well yet so I often use Japanese. In this semester, I’ve been thinking that if I understand their English more. I can talk with them more and know about them more. I decided that I’ll study English more because I want to talk with them and to know about them more.
The two is that a chance to know about my friends in this writing blog. I didn’t know about their real life not so much before this semester. Watching my friends’ blog, I noticed that they make an effort for English and make a chance to use English. When I read their writing, I’ve thought that I have to study English more. My friends’ writing made me think so.
I think that my awareness of English has changed by these reasons. Y friends of exchange students and my other friends made me think that I want to study English more and my awareness of it changed. That’s why, I think my awareness of English has changed.
I was studying Chinese at first this semester. I didn’t know every thing about it. My first Chinese class was terrible and I though what I mistook choose this class. However, after one month, I thought that I am happy because I can learn Chinese. I know it is very difficult, but Chinese is very important language. Learning Chinese is good for me. I could understand some Chinese culture. Japanese and Chinese have similar words. It was very interesting for me. Learning language is broadening my horizons by this class. I want to broaden my horizons more.

ReplyDeleteI wrote my diary, book reviews and movie reviews every day and that helps my building up my English skill, so I could write English without any reluctance.
I thought it is very important things to write English with free feeling, not fear. Using English every day is also important. Listening world music, try watching movies without seeing translations, read an English paper and write English blog helps our building up English skills naturally.
I think that my awareness of the English language has changed in this semester. I liked reading and listening because I didn’t have to express my thought. I wasn’t good at writing own idea in English. However I wrote many posts in English in my blog, and my awareness has changed. I found that it was fun to write my thought. If I write my idea in English, I’m able to tell my idea to all over the world. I think it is fun to use English.
ReplyDeleteI could write my opinion with English, because I had writing class this semester. I wrote a lot of diaries on web about 4 or 5 times a week. It was enjoy for me to write diaries. First, I used Japanese English dictionary when write diary every time. However I became don’t very need Japanese English dictionary. I wrote more than ten thousand words on summer semester.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I like reading other people’s diaries too, because I can know what did they do the day. I always read a lot of my friend’s diary. Reading it was my enjoyment.
I was very glad when I have got comments to my diary from my friends and someone whom I don’t know.
This class was very enjoy, because I could had this class teaching each other with my friends, and I had a interesting teacher’s class.

ReplyDeleteI think my English language has changed to good way, and I have 2 reasons for it.
ReplyDeleteI started blog and kept posting kind of regularly. It’s a bit hard for me but it’s fun for me too. And I could write on my blog whatever I want.
When I write something on my blog, I was often careful about grammatical mistakes. To make some mistakes makes me good because failure is a stepping-stone to success. But I wasn’t afraid to make mistakes, I was careful about any mistakes though. As a result, I have no idea how my English skills have elevated, but all I can say is that my English skills are getting better little by little by this class.
My awareness of the English language had not change. I think using computer and blog is very interested and important. However, I did not study about English or writing, because I could not realize whether my English is right or not.
ReplyDeleteLast year, I studied writing class with another teacher. I agreed with him. If I wrote many manuscripts, it might right or mistake. I cannot aware the mistake, so teacher told me. He corrected our manuscript and we should have write right grammar again. I could get English skill to rewrite own manuscript. I think that is class.
We wrote some reviews and many blogs, but we just wrote and what should do after that? I think someone should correction. I think writing class should be chance to write English. It is not just write. My opinion is not change.
Language awareness
ReplyDeleteI noticed that to learn English language is important for me this semester. In second period, I studied English history, English literature, speaking, writing, Intercultural Communication and so on. So I think that I could get a lot of knowledge of English.
In my junior high and high school days, I studied almost only English grammar and reading, so I hardly speak English until then. However since I entered this university, I noticed the importance of speaking English. Actually if I didn’t speak English, my practical English speaking skill would not be improved. It doesn’t make sense if I know many words. So I have to speak English more, for example I have chance to talk with exchange students.
I think that English language awareness is fan. To communicate with exchange students or my friends, we can get knowledge how to express my mind in English and we can get confidence.
I had to write blog posts almost everyday, so I looked up a strange ward in a dictionary many times. So I memorized some new English words and also I could write a sentence faster than before. I was not good at writing English, but I got to like it now. So I think my awareness of English language have changed this semester. .

In this semester, I learned many about computer and also English. I could know many words about computer that I didn’t used to hard it even in Japanese. But gradually I could understand about them and what the teacher talks. So I thought that I could learn more as I using PC not only with blogging.
ReplyDeleteNow I can send e-mail and search something through the Internet in English. There are many words that I don’t know but I can understand most of them, because I can guess and I can choose what is important information. That is really important I think. I really glad that I can do like this. This way of learning English is common with native children. They don’t use dictionary so often however I use dictionary sometimes. But I’m enjoy blogging as I learning English naturally.
My awareness of the English language has not changed. Because I thought writing in English is good to improve my skills before this semester began. So I didn’t need to change the awareness. But I realized many things in this semester. For example I realized that how important vocabulary. Because I thought many times that I can’t write what I want to, I want to write that but I don’t know the words.
ReplyDeleteLearning awareness needs our interest at first. If we don’t have interest in learning languages, we cannot aware its importance and we cannot make progress in languages.
ReplyDeleteIt is important for us to learn English, of course other foreign languages. We can learn culture, history, tradition, custom, differences from our country, and way of communicating with other people. Also, we can aware our country better.
In this semester, I learned other people thoughts. It is not enough to learn English alone. I studied English, then exchange our thoughts and talk about English, and we can aware good points and bad points about English well.
I was a little bit shy and I couldn’t speak English very well when I entered in this university, so I didn’t use in English often, because I don’t have confidence. However, I tried to host family last summer. After that I have taken a positive attitude. So now, I think that my awareness got higher that before, I guess so. This work has heightened because of my friend of exchange students. For example, one of the friends who couldn’t speak Japanese not fluently but also he couldn’t speak Japanese anything when he came to Japan. I am surprised that his recent Japanese ability. He grew up a lot, I am proud of him. Why? I will tell you about the story. First of all, he has been keeping study since he came to Japan as usual. Actually his Japanese life is almost done and he will leave in Japan soon. However he doesn’t know that “stop”. Secondly, his concentration is great when he study. So he got very good ability right now. That was thing he had been wishing for. So His success was the result of effort. That’s why, I believe that I can get very good skill of English like him, and also I hope so. I changed my mind because of him. So I am going to try to study English more than now. I don’t know what happened in the future so I might disappoint at me or I might feel shock about my ability of English from now on, but I will make every effort, and I will not give up.

ReplyDeleteI have not so much time to study because I work so hard 5 days a week. But I always try to pick up vocabularies according to subtitles in movies, or English materials like newspapers, websites, and write them down on a paper. Personally, I like movies, so I often look IMDb (Internet Movie Data Base). I check out not only plots, but also advice to parents for children, or reviews from users. Although my vocabularies are broad, my listening is not so good in spite of hearing without subtitles. My skills are not so much improved, but I know I gradually get well.

ReplyDeleteMy English awareness has not changed so much in this semester. As I got a habit of blogging, I didn’t study English ward than before. It’s good to get the habit, but I just have to heighten my English skill not only on blogging, but studying on my desk, I think.
To learn language is that we can raise our abilities. Language is one of communication. We always use language. Today, internationalization is spread and we try to acquire English and other languages. English is used in international scenes and company. Then, when Olympic and international events will be held, many countries people will visit in the country. So, people can communicate smoothly if they learn English or other languages. We should learn language in order to be able to convey our real thinking.
