This post is from Seattle, WA, where I saw the Mariners play the Minnesota Twins on August 13, 2007 - the same day that I departed from Japan, thanks to the time difference and flying across the international dateline.
In spite of attending an exciting game, it was hard to stay awake until the bottom of the ninth inning, when the M's won four to three.

I got a handful of questions in a raft of comments about "Kenji & pab in Seattle." I'm going to answer them all at once, below, but first let me rearrange the questions:
ReplyDelete- Did you go to [the] USA?
- Do you like baseball game[s]?
- How was the game?
- How much was admission?
- Jyojima is ... [a] famous catcher.... What do you think about him?
Yes, I went to the States. That's me in the first picture, in front of Kenji's mural outside Safeco Field. I like to go see the Mariners play when I'm in town, and watch them on TV when I can. As I mentioned in my post from Seattle, the game I attended was exciting. However, I had just flown across the Pacific from Japan, so I nodded off several times during the game even though the Mariners were winning.
A Team Store employee took me to the game as a treat. Though I know she got the ticket at a discount price, I'm not sure how much the seats that she got actually cost. They were very good ones, a few rows back between the Mariners' dugout and home plate, where we could easily see Kenji both catching and batting. He's one of my favorite players. I was proud to be wearing a Johjima t-shirt, and would have been a happy to wear a Mariners' cap, too.
