"...[C]hallenges of the future" (Kenuam, 2010)

In her post, The End of Education as We Know It (2010.03.10), Amanda Kenuam suggests, "Dan Brown [who created the video below] and educators all over the world can agree that we need to continue moving forward to ensure that our students are prepared to meet the challenges of the future with fresh, new ideas" ("Institutional education needs to do more than adopt a few new tools!", ¶2).

After you've had a chance to watch and listen to that video a time or two, I'd like to hear what you think about it. So here are a few questions that might help you get started.
  • What was your first impression of the video? What impressed or surprised you the most?
  • Does what Dan says about college classes sound familiar to you? How so, or why not?
  • Do you think he did the right thing when he dropped out of college? Why or why not?
  • What do you think Dan is doing now? How might you find out?
  • What kinds of preparation do you feel are necessary for you at this point in your student careers?
I welcome answers to any of those questions in comments on this post.

  2. Hi, Ryota. Thanks for dropping by.

I'm puzzled, however, by your question here about spicy food. If you meant to attach your comment to another post (perhaps 2010.03.13), would you please put it there, instead?

This post is about educational practices and student needs in general, and college classes in particular.

Did you watch the YouTube video embedded in this post? If so, what are your impressions of that? Those will be more than welcome here.

    Cheers
