Thank you for your comments, everyone. It is a pleasure to hear not only which of your predecessors' blog portfolios you admire, but also the reasons for which you admire them.
I must admit, however, my surprise that so many of you have focused on the quantity of written work showcased in those portfolios. As a number of you also noted, there was evidence in many of those portfolios of balance of posts and regularity of posting, too.
There was, I realize, only a limited amount of class time that I allowed you to devote to reviewing over a dozen hand-picked portfolios. So I hope you will revisit at least the portfolios that you, your classmates, and your peers thought were the best.
I urge you to take closer looks at what your predecessors wrote before, between, and after the embedded spreadsheets in their portfolios. That is, because I feel their written introductions to, explanations of, and reflections upon the large bodies of writing that those portfolios represent are as important as the balance, extent, and regularity of previous work.
The writing within those portfolios made me believe they were the best examples to guide you, as you begin working in earnest on your own portfolio pages.
